Lying sociopaths, both of them. You can’t tell people it’s a good deal to not have access to or guarantees of healthcare while telling them it’s a good deal for them (lying) and smiling while doing so (sociopathy).

Very few of my students have gone into politics. One guy, who is a bilingual immigration lawyer now, ran for a judge’s seat in Louisville, KY, but was unsuccessful. If any others have run for office, it might have been only local races and I didn’t hear about them.

The students I taught my first year teaching are now approaching 50. Some may be past that now. I try not to think about that overly much.
