I hear your there, and heartily agree…. I just get the feeling lately that elections on a national level are being sidetracked…..or even shanghaied by side issues….. stuff that either won’t be resolved any time soon, (abortion, gay marriage), or shouldn’t be a main concern at this point (what with the deficit, the war, etc.). By the time the election rolls around you know more about how the candidates feel about birth control than federal spending……
I guess that’s just been bothering me lately….. trying to sort out my own thought on some things…..

I agree that the social issues are a distraction. I want the out of control spending dealt with, because it’s my opinion that government spending on things that are outside of their proper scope has led to some of these social issues. Just balance the budget, cut taxes, cut spending, and We the People will figure out how to get along.
