The axis powers in WW11 experienced the “western way of war” in a manner that was not seen before and has not been seen since. I’m with you all the way in your hatred of the enemy and the desire for retaliation far out of proportion to what was done to us. But it was done to us and we are in the 21st century. If we employed the strategy and tactics of the second world war, we would have Bin Laden alive or in a vial. If Pakistan gave us a problem (which they would) they would cease to exist as nation. In the foreseeable future, we will do what needs to be done to accomplish that kind of goal.
