It’s also based on massive amounts of unpaid overtime for grading papers, creating lesson plans, etc. Also most teachers end up paying out of pocket for a significant amount of their classroom supplies. My ex wife was a middle school teacher, you clearly have no clue how difficult, draining and undervalued the profession is.

It’s a full time job. Teachers these days not only have to teach material obviously but they also have to prep students for standardized tests. It’s a tough job that should get more respect than it gets.
