No, he didn’t. He had a live audience he had to throw meat to and keep happy. Meet The Press is a much better forum for Mitt to say something that might have induced some delegates to boo. He can’t actually go again any wingnuts when they’re standing in front of a stage he is on, because then the media would focus on those boo-berries to the exclusion of the substance of the speech.

Except that when it was over, nobody was talking about Mitt’s speech anyway, other than to note that he never mentioned the troops. Everyone else was too busy talking about Clint Eastwood yelling at an empty chair and marveling at the alternate reality that the GOP clearly live in.
