“Failure” is subjective, not just a bottom line + or - dollar figure

Say Company “A” projects a loss of 100 million for Fiscal Year 2008. In Feb 2008 they hire Super Wiz Consultant, and at the end of the year they lost 50 million, not 100 million due to his guidenace. Success or failure?
