I find it really hard to believe that he wasn’t told about what happened by others at the party. They just all agreed to cover it up, and based on the the stories of other women who attended those parties with Kavanaugh’s GP clique, this wasn’t anything close to an isolated incident. He and his friends all know that they got away with absolutely appalling shit when they were younger as a result of race and class privilege but their entire careers and future depend on retconning it away.

My read of it is that only 3 people would have known it happened - Ford, Kavanaugh, and Judge. Ford might never have told anyone, till 2002. Kavanaugh and Judge might not have said anything either. This sort of sexual assault thrives on the victim being too ashamed to tell.
