I also thought the Twitter thing was kind of weird to campaign on but the difference between the things that are allowed to hurt Harris and the genuinely fucked up bullshit that Bernie, Biden, Warren and even Buttigieg are allowed to skate on is goddamned stark. Maybe Harris shouldn’t have kept repeating something that should have just been a one-off observation, but all she’s really saying is that Twitter should enforce its goddamned rules, which shouldn’t be controversial.

Harris was Hillary’ed from the very beginning. The BernieBros and Bots were out in full force to destroy her (as they are to destroy Warren). Every candidate has flaws and social media can do a good number on destroying anyone’s standing, especially if the Russians have decided you are a threat. Most people judge based on rumors they have heard without having the interest, skill, or time to really investigate the truth. And the MSM has proved of little value in pursuing and publishing the truth.
