I brought up to a wingnut the other day the fact that Newt has not only said that judges should be made to appear before Congress if their decisions are against the “majority opinion,” but also that courts could be abolished for doing so.

The response I got? “So what, he’s not president, Obama is, and that’s what’s so wrong about what he said!”

Exactly, and you know as well as I do that if a Democratic candidate had said what Newt said, they would be going crazy. Instead Obama is compared to fucking Stalin. Again I wouldn’t have criticized the court but the right wing outrage over what Obama said was just so stupid. And considering their own attacks on “activist judges”, I guess it hurt when Obama made the correct point that judicial activism isn’t only practiced by left leaning judges.
