Please see Coronal Mass Ejections and Solar Flares. A nuke detonated in space is the equivalent of a fire cracker in comparison. That the source of the electromagnetic radiation and charged particles are man made isn’t particularly relevant to the impact as long as the detonation isn’t done within our atmosphere.
