“Well, those people were going to die anyway” is already the axiom when dealing with the global south, but when shit got tough in the global north a bunch of folks just got yeeted out of the in group…

…in ways that eerily resemble last-century eugenics.

If you contract the zone of personhood, then all the death signifies nothing moral.

I recall an argument for putting people back to work: “Sure, people are dying of Covid, but they also die of poverty!”

People do not die of poverty. They die from malnutrition, lack of proper housing and medical care, etc.

Because in our society, poor people are not considered to be entitled to such things.
