Let’s go with the car equivalent. The new 2017 model is now $500 more than the old version MSRP, but with dealer incentives and rebates (the ACA subsidies), you’ll likely pay about what you did this year or slightly more (and you have health care coverage!).
It’s the insurance companies that get a whole lot more money in the end, since they requested (and got) higher premiums to cover the marketplace policies.
