Garland said some of the right things about holding the powerful to account. So I’m being told on Twitter I should just sit and wait because these things take time. I don’t find this very reassuring, with America’s history. I hope this time will be different, but I’m not expecting it.

Sorry if that makes me a downer, but it’s honest.

He’s the definition of an institutionalist, which would have been awesome at other times in history (e.g. after Watergate)

He’s the wrong person for the job right now, though, when the clock is ticking to the 2022 midterms and the possibility that all of the investigations will be shut down for good. We need more of a firebrand right now, I fear.
