Hillary Clinton was uniquely subject to 30 years of incessant propaganda from the right wing. That’s one big reason why drawing sweeping conclusions from the 2016 election is usually unwise.

Any other Democratic presidential candidate that had been subject to that level of abuse for so long would have cracked under the pressure or, minimally, had just as much trouble as Hillary Clinton did connecting with weak-minded fools in the electorate who are swayed by Republican noise.
