Not sure if this is a conscious factor, but remember the Buffet rule thing? It was all about “unearned income”. High salary actors directors and athletes pay the high bracket taxes. Capitol gains people pay the low % when they maneuver as the tax code encourages.

And athletes must pay tax in every state they play. (including workmans comp) Huge need of CPA’s for them.
