Honestly we fuck ourselves when we place the Constitution on almost holy terms. That’s not to say it shouldn’t be valued but it should be seen as a tool for governance not a guidebook that you must follow word for word. Again that’s radical in some circles I admit but I don’t like Constitution or Founding Fathers worship. Call me someone who appreciates the Founding Fathers) but doesn’t see them as being the total guide. This country is a lot better now than it was when it was founded.

Just a subtle reminder: Many of the Founding Fathers were slave owners and on a whole they didn’t give Blacks or Women the same rights as White men.
