The thing about this particular chapter in Trump’s miserable track record of conning his marks is that for the first time they face an existential threat for real- not a manufactured brown-skinned people hating wall building variety, or one of gun grabbing commie hippies coming for their (often theoretical) well-deserved 2nd mansions.

Fear has been Trump’s con all along and this time fear is his achilles heel as his base support knows they are in the highest risk pool to get sick and die. This means more scrutiny placed upon Trump as well as blame as people and their families fall victim. Poor government policy and defunding services that help fight these sorts of pandemics will be his legacy and there is nothing Trump can do to separate himself from his actions because he himself built the tower of Fear. It will fall down upon him.
