They didn’t want the tough and insightful responses of Clinton who said there aren’t easy answers for folks who can’t afford to move from where the jobs have disappeared to where they are being created. It takes time to reinvent a community, as Pittsburgh has done, and that city has all kinds of advantages such as universities of renown and cultural centers that can attract people to them. Not every town or even city has that.

And telling people that coal is coming back, or that steel tariffs will save their shuttered steel mill is just flat out lying. Trump tapped into fact that people would rather hear the confirmation bias than the hard truths.

Pittsburgh is a great example. But yes they chose to accept Trunos lies and simple answers rather than listen to the truth that HRC gave them. Yet Trump gets framed as tells as is type. He’s the opposite. A bullshit artist.
