Actually, for a large swath of people the Enlightenment was the obvious work of Satan. That’s what they think.

Funny thing is, the same people talk about how barbaric Islam is because the Shiites and Sunnis fight, etc. while at the same time wanting to roll Christianity back to the days when Catholics and Protestants duked it out all over Europe, and both of them slaughtered Anabaptists.
