Here you see one of the major differences between a Parliamentary system and the American system.

In a Parliamentary system, the head of state is FAR more directly tied to the party he represents (in fact, they are the ones who choose him or her in the first place) than the American President is.

BoJo is the head of government. In the UK, the Monarch is the head of state.
