re: #273 boxhead

Some of the healthiest, (economic wise), Countries are well educated and have relatively low population. Having economic accountability close to home seems to work. The farther away, the more layers there are between Citizens and those making decisions affecting the Country as a whole only make it easier for people to act not in the best interest of the Country.

Now many will say those thoughts are anti capitalism, Communism even. But what is wrong asking a corporation that benefited from their home Country’s healthy society to focus on giving back instead of pure economic gain?

Low populations are a lot easier to manage than large ones.

Still, your point is well taken. We ought not fear more involvement.

As for corporate responsible, I’m with you. It never ceases to amaze how some people who embrace a right of center ideology of accountability and responsibility insist on giving corporations a free pass.

No more ridiculous tax breaks, government handouts or tax shelters period.

I do not want to see people or corporations punished for success. They just have to pay their fair share. The widows, orphans and other beneficiaries of corporate dividends and pensions (the real owners of the company) do not get the free passes the Class A shareholders get, etc.

Also, I’m not keen on punishing heirs. I work hard and want to leave my daughter what I can. What’s wrong with that?
