Any Republican is going to lose. You can’t win a general election after pandering to the Republican’s insane wingnut base.

Why would you even want a Republican to win, knowing how bad that would be for the economy, civil-rights, and whatever foreigners they decide to kill?

A big chunk is that from his upbringing, DF believes the GOP lies about economics and imagines that if he works hard enough he too can be rich like the bosses. Never mind that they’ll never allow that for more than a tiny tiny tiny handful to present the illusion of it being possible for all. That’s 90% of the draw for non-racists.
