The older electorate, the Cold Warriors, are preset to buy into anti-commie BS. They grew up reading it on the back of their cereal boxes.

It will be interesting to see if that line of attack will really work these days. I’ve seen some of the old US cold war propaganda online (e.g., atheism is the royal road to communism), and it just seems laughable to me.
