As much as I’ve called them the American Taliban and similar, the reality is that these are right wing Christofascists. They are Christian extremists. There’s no sense or purpose dragging other religious groups into this when identifying them explicitly as the religious group they are serves the purpose properly.

It’s a more effective analogy, though, in explaining who and what they really are. The term “Christofascist” doesn’t resonate with 99% of the public.
