My impression of China is, it seems more of less content to stay in its sandbox, with maybe colonialist excursions into Africa.

since they’ve been building ocean going naval vessels - aircraft carriers and what will wind up being Aegis Class cruisers (thank you, Bill Clinton!) I have to think they are looking globally. And I’m not gonna worry about Taiwan until China starts to build HUGE numbers of amphibious landing ships.
