The great thing about Obama making this mistake is that he picked on the wrong cop.
THis Crowly guy seems to have been the black commander choice to teach the class in sensitivity in racial profiling to other officers. ANd, he apparantly was the officer who performed CPR on the Reggie Lewis when he collapsed 16 years ago. Imagine that, he actually tried to save the life of a black man and perhaps even pressed his lips agains the other man to attempt to breathe life into him. This guy sounds like a real racist bastard /s

Meanwhile, Gates is the distingished professor of …Black Studies. No anger towards whites over there.

danrudy: I haven’t heard anybody say that Sgt. Crowley is a “racist bastard.” The criticism I’ve heard is that he over-reacted by handcuffing and arresting an older man who walked with a cane, who shouted at him but posed no physical threat.

I’m not accusing or defending either Crowley or Gates, because I wasn’t there. I’m just saying that I believe you’re mischaracterizing the criticism of Crowley. Who has said he’s a racist bastard?
