If the Democrats have any sense at all, they’ll run a presidential campaign that not only treats Trump like a serious candidate, but which treats him like an existential threat to the country. Massive GOTV and voter registration drives, etc.

The Republicans treated him like a joke and now here we are. I pray that the Dems don’t do the same in the general.

Hillary made the mistake in ‘08 of treating Obama as something less than a serious threat, then got showed up in the primaries. She reversed her error this year and focused totally on GOTV, phone-banking, and personal visits. End result: Sanders squashed like a bug.

I think she’s the best-prepared of the two to treat Trump like a real challenge, rather than as a stepping stone to the White House.
