Quite a few of us were not taken in by the whole fluffy bunny shtick. I was afraid of the damned varmints and their sharp teeth. I was never bitten by a rabbit but I could see the teeth and use my imagination. Night of the Lepus
I did not know till very recently that this classic horror film was based on an actual book, The Year of the Angry Rabbit by quite a good Australian writer named Russell Braddon.
He is best known for The Naked Island, based on his experience as a prisoner of the Japanese during World War II.
Another former PoW of the Japanese, Pierre Boulle, also became famous for a novel about his experiences, The Bridge on the River Kwai, and for one about terrifying animal mutations, Planet of the Apes.
