In terms of Israel, one of the reasons that Jews soured on Ford was because he had said that there was a need to reconsider the American alliance with Israel. (As always because Israel wasn’t doing enough for peace.)

And he “temporally” cut off the shipment of Planes ( F16s maybe? ) to Israel. But I actually think whatever plane he held up, was held up in production anyway, so it was mostly symbolic, and the shipments did resume in a timely manner. But that was a bad PR move. And if I am not mistaken Casper Weinberger was also behind that?
