Hell, the utter genius of the shot of the spinning bone cutting to the space based nuclear weapon at the end of the dawn of man in 2001 was more than anything Cameron has done since Terminator.

And yet, he made many dollars on it all. Sad. Really great movies that have great photography, scene setups, acting and a dynamite script don’t seem to get made as much anymore and when they do they just don’t bring the return to the studio and producers.

It’s a lot like pop music. Crap sells, great bands and their art go by the wayside sometimes hardly recognized.

And then the public gets to say “they don’t make ‘em like they used to” or “there are no great bands and music anymore” but it isn’t true. We just don’t have a way to get it to the people and the big business dudes want huge returns so they push the crap that sells.
