I suspect it works like a sail in a crosswind. Just going from the round pipes on my Ritchey or Battaglin to the larger, shaped cross sections of the Plastic Fantastic Bianchi, I notice a BIG change in crosswind behavior, with the Bianchi being much harder to manage.

Try long wheel base recumbent with a full fairing and full saddlebags in a good crosswind.

Yea, the load is a bit ragged….
