I’ve never fired a gun in my life, but aren’t you supposed to brace the hand holding the gun to avoid being hit in the forehead when you fire said gun? Kind of hard with your left arm full of kid.

Only some of the most insanely over powered hand guns require that. 99% of hand guns can be easily and safely fired with one hand. My usual practice routine include shooting single handedly with my weak hand as well as my dominant hand.

Now, tactically, engaging a dangerous threat with a child in your arms is just plain ignorance. Seek cover & concealment. Place innocents there. Move AWAY from them, then engage the threat. But that doesn’t make a good picture…
