One can only take so much, I suppose. My maternal grandparents separated after 50 years. Gramma said the first year was nice.

Husband: “I wanted to thank you for 15 wonderful years of marriage.”

Wife: “We’ve been married for 30!”

Husband: “I know, and 15 of them were wonderful.”
