He’s talking about the Gulags and Soviet oppression. It’s still a stupid argument. Maybe Young can look at our allies that have sensible gun laws and aren’t Nazi occupied Europe or the USSR.

When Britain was threatened with actual invasion in 1940, they did not have to rely on a haphazard “militia” of self-armed and self-trained gun owners. They got millions of old but perfectly serviceable rifles out of storage and bought more from the United States, then gave them to the volunteers in the Home Guard. These were hastily trained and organized, but they at least had some standardized form of each, and they also had uniforms.
