My conclusion, having discussed these types of ideas with a wide range of people, is that a great deal of cultural/contemporary thinking gets repackaged as “theology”.

Each and every person, you, me, and Joe Bible-belt, are highly influenced by the thoughts of others, as they are conveyed to us.

How many religious people do you know who have a grasp of the languages in which the Bible was written? How many know the history of significant religious teachings?
