those are not the only two possible outcomes.

most people will feel a direct hit. my precious bodily fluids will remain unappropriated by the commies. that doesn’t make it all ok.

a majority don’t want this lump of crap, as far as I can tell from the polls you haven’t seen yet.

But the majority, in polls you haven’t seen yet, does want some kind of reform and supports most of the substantive elements of the bill. Polls cut both ways.

Point is, Dems ran on this in a national election and won. Can you see a similarly situated Republican Party backing down on their legislative agenda? They’d say, “Elections have consequences, we don’t follow polling, and we have power, we’re gonna use it.”
