re: #260 pingjockey

When I had my house in western PA I grew it in planters on my front porch. Had chicken wire over it to keep the cats from rolling on the plants themselves, but the plants and leaves grew through the wire and was freely available.

By my count I saw 7-8 different cats on my porch at one time or another (including my two). Not at the same time, but apparently my porch became a standard stop on the various outdoor feline patrol patterns. Only issue I had was one that decided to spray my screen door. I retaliated by cleaning the whole porch off using an ammonia solution. It appears the perpetrator got the point. ;)

And once those plants seeded to spots off my porch (and even into my backyard from a planter back there) I’d come across lone catnip plants that had grown about 18” high and then been eaten, rolled on, and otherwise traumatized to bits.
