Ok, get your point. But it is still Bezos paper. I’m not sure what his intention is. Maybe good, maybe bad, maybe both. I think we need to think about giving up on the old models. Ratings are quite low, I think Meet the Conservatives on NBC gets a 3 rating, radio listening is way down, cable is fragmented. Maybe by hyping new music artists with good messages we could reach and motivate younger voters, for example. These transition times are always tough.

Here’s how I think we’re going to have to defeat it: Pay for some of it. If you want to control the content, then you have to be the source of income, not the source of eyeballs only. And maybe some of us subsidize the content for others (I can pay will others here don’t have extra money), but we’re going to have to end advertiser led news content.
