What one can do though is look at the historical Christianity (without identifying it with “true” Christianity). And the historical Christianity is as illiberal as it gets. So liberal Christians are out of step with it. Which fact I actually find great, but they shouldn’t pretend to have the only true key to the Christian teachings. They are against the weight of 2000 years.
