When they start making their yuuuge prison population (yuuger, it’s already too big) do labor projects and profit a couple ways on the front and back end will it still be a stretch to call the PIC modern day slavery?

It was always, by exception:

“Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”
