We overnighted in Chicago last week ahead of a flight to do about a 72 hour whirlwind stay in Beijing. Took an architectural river cruise on the Chicago River the afternoon we arrived and floated by the Trump Tower there. ALL the commercial space from the river line to the plaza was vacant.

By the way, Beijing was amazing. We stayed in the Opposite House, rode motorcycle sidecars to the Summer Palace and then a remote part of the Wall. Second day, did the square, Forbidden City and ate weird stuff in the Hutongs.
