Beheading may seem exotic to modern Western culture, but it’s a pretty common concept in the Muslim world. Criminals are executed by beheading, the Koran has verses celebrating righteous beheadings, children play at beheading “bad guys”, literature and pop culture is full of references to beheading.

Here’s a question I was just pondering: Have you ever heard of a woman decapitating a man in this cultural environment? People are asking about the status of women; I think the answer could offer us a clue.

If the man in question is say, a Christian, or an American abroad, is it acceptable for a woman to be violent with him?

I have my guess, but I honestly don’t know. You seem like a good person to ask.
