Well - in a naked act of aggressive paternalism, I just barged into the room of my 16 year old and into the room of my 14 year old.

16 year old was squandering time on youtube watching Midnight Oil videos (I remember playing that band on KCPR at CalPoly. And now I know why my 5 year old decided to break out in song tonight with his own rendition of “Beds are Burning”.)

14 year old was actually reading. A book. His facebook page is up on his computer, but it is across the room. Reading. A book.

What a letdown.

How many minutes until his screen saver kicks in?
Perhaps he heard you and bolted over and picked up the book, and the screen saver hadn’t kicked in yet since the FB page was still up
