Steve, it is not what the “AGW agent” have done, it’s what the massive propaganda machine arrayed against them has done. It’s what the anti-intellectual attitude parroted by brianless jerks and by canny politicians has done. It is not the fault of scientists that our culture is so moronic that it doesn’t trust science. It is not the fault of scientists that they’re not trusted.

The solution is to fight back against the anti-intellectual blather that the GOP is investing in so highly these days. It’s the job of everyone who understands the problem to address it, because this nation is us, the people— government can’t fix our attitudes for us.
