Same here. I’ve been in datacenters and colocation facilities with Apple servers and hundreds of terabytes of Xserve RAID storage. There are Mac-centric datacenters as well. I often build scientific computing clusters and grids out of Apple OS X servers although not during recent times when they let their XServe line languish.

Apple did make a strategic decision to become a consumer products company so I do expect that their presence in the datacenter will start to shrink. Mac OS X Server is a fantastic product though.

I remember when a Gov’t Agency bought a PD of SAN storage about 5 years ago from our Company..We were fainting in the offices…A space agency…
Because SANS are now VM driven with top of the line and open source drivers…The OS No longer matters…MAC, Solaris, MS servers…
