I, for one, still feel guilty about this whole “homo sapiens” hegemony. I mean, the Neanderthals were French. They were obviously superior, and probably left a lighter carbon footprint.

The Neander Valley, where the first remains were identified, and for which the Neanderthals were named, is in Germany, so in prehistoric foreshadowing, the Neanderthals must have been Germans who invaded France. Researchers have raised serious questions about early Neanderthal links to France, as no remains of cheese or wine have been discovered at Neanderthal sites.
