What you might like to do is read some more of Dr. Straus’s work. He’s noticed over the years a few discrepancies he considers interesting. Allow me to summarize.

Where the survey is of initiated violence, female and male initiation is close to symmetrical. That is your point, but it’s where you stop.

Where the survey is of damage from violence, females suffer in severity at rates 4 to 6 times those suffered by men.

Where the survey is not of domestic violence but of domestic crime, the male is charged 7 to 13 times more often.

Dr. Straus notes in his later work that there are a number of reasons for the disparity. At no time, however, does he claim it is due to biased researchers. Instead, the most frequent reason he cites is that males tend to hit harder and with more purpose than females.

I have watched Straus’s lecture from the DVD of the 2008 conference. Straus lists seven methods by which feminists (his word) “hide or distort” data. Do you want me to send you actual screenshots of his slides? Will this convince you?
