I forget exactly where I read it, some early 20th book of political philosophy. Modern liberals want to use Hamiltonian means to achieve Jeffersonian ends, while modern conservatives (read: teabaggers; sane ones like DF and steve are exempt) want to use Jeffersonian means to achieve Hamiltonian ends.

It’s an interesting way of looking at it and I agree. I think this is why one of my liberal friends granted he’s a New Yorker but said flat out to me I like Hamilton more than I do Jefferson. Now as a Virginian I love Jefferson, I mean it’s pretty much state law that you have to love TJ here but I understood where he was coming from. Now my favorite founder reminds Benjamin Franklin because that guy was just awesome. I’d hit up the tavern night after night with Ben as wingman.
