To the best of my knowledge there are no Muslims anywhere in my county, but I occasionally hear fear statements from people in my town.

The strangest I mentioned here before, when my wife and I returned from Poland. A lot of people told us they couldn’t imagine travelling to Poland, because they were afraid ISIS might attack Poland. No amount of reassurance that Poland is not exactly on Daesh’s radar or that your chance of being a victim of a terrorist is lower than being eaten by a shark after being struck by lightning in the Sandhills assuages that.

I was lucky. I had Muslim classmates literally from the start. But yeah, I think a lot of people just don’t understand those sort of things. I mean it’s like how I view their beliefs about guns. I get that they want to be heroes and do teh right thing but it’s that too often a gun would make an already chaotic sitaution worse.
