Yes, obviously. My point is that she seems to think imprisonment should be voluntary. It isn’t, by definition. This has been something of a minor crazy string in RWNJ thinking. I’ve seen RWNJs try to invoke the presumption of innocence when some traitor is arrested, absurdly suggesting that a conviction must be obtained before an arrest can be made. It is actually part of goober outhouse folk-law that formal indictments must be secured before an arrest can be made, even in the face of compelling evidence and immediate risk.

That’s largely the product of wingnut “legal experts” who will simultaneously tell you that a grand jury is a “mini-trial” that prosecutors only avoid because they know the evidence is “weak” or “circumstantial,” but then sneer that “you can indict a ham sandwich” when one is involved and an indictment secured.
